LOG CABIN HOMESTEAD PROJECT
presented by

CAMP IS ONLY OPEN TO
EXITING 3rd, 4th and 5th GRADE STUDENTS
Built in 1998, as a gift from the Brownsburg Sesquicentennial Committee to the Brownsburg Community School Corporation, this log cabin located at 310 South Stadium Drive has sat unused for many years. The Brownsburg Education Foundation brought the log cabin property back to life again, with help from the Brownsburg High School History Club and Brownsburg High School Environmental Club and their knowledge of history from the mid-1800's and native plants and herbs.
As part of their study of Brownsburg history, third grade students in the corporation take a trip to the cabin. While visiting the Log Cabin Homestead, students are immersed in a hands-on and interactive historical experience. They participate in activities and lessons taught to them by individuals dressed in costumes of early settlers. History is brought to life as students step back into time during this educational adventure!
